Alakaʻi Paleka
Alakaʻi Paleka, affectionately known as "Maui’s Morning Goddess," is a revered figure in Hawaiian radio, having started her career on February 5, 1985, at Mauiʻs KPOA Radio, Hawaiʻi's First Hawaiian FM station. As a Morning Drive Personality, her popular tagline, "Brush Teeth, Wash Face and Comb Hair," became a daily morning wake-up ritual for many, setting a positive tone for the day across Maui. Alakaʻi’s passion for Hawaiian music led her to become Program Director, where she made it her mission to fill the airwaves with Hawaiian Language Music as often as possible. Beyond the studio, she was a beloved emcee, a familiar and charismatic presence at countless Hawaiian events on Maui. Though she retired from KPOA, Alakaʻi continues to share her manaʻo (knowledge) and aloha as a member of the Aloha Morning Wake Up ʻOhana and Program Director at Hawaiʻi Islandʻs KAPA FM, eagerly connecting with a new generation of listeners
